Store-and-Forward Protocol

From the mount to the alert, in six steps.

The male's device decides on its own, at the edge of the network. The cloud only steps in at the end — and only once there's solid ground under the animal.

  1. Deep Sleep

    The male's device stays in deep sleep. Only the accelerometer (IMU) monitors kinematics at low frequency.

  2. Event Detection

    The mount produces a distinctive kinematic pattern. The accelerometer fires a hardware interrupt that wakes the device.

  3. Validation

    The system confirms the animal is out of the water and reads the nearby female's tag over BLE. Proximity validation confirms the mount and rules out false positives.

  4. Local Storage

    The event [Male_ID, Female_ID, Timestamp] is encrypted and written to non-volatile memory on the device itself.

  5. Asynchronous Transmission

    Back on solid ground, the LoRaWAN radio wakes up and dispatches the accumulated packets to the gateway, with no mobile network costs.

  6. Cloud Processing

    The network server forwards the JSON to the backend, which computes the ideal AI window (the AM-PM rule) and notifies the producer.
